PSSB 6109 - "Concerning the Washington state ferries system"

    Abolishes the MEC and transfers MEC's responsibilities to PERC effective July 1, 2010. 

    On February 26, 2010, this bill was placed on the Senate Rules "X" File.

SB 6503   -  "Operations of state agencies"

    Closes all state agencies, including the MEC, for a total of 10 days during FY11.

HB 2271 - "An act relating to work performed by state forces on ferry vessels or terminals"

    Eliminates the MEC salary survey and compares ferry employees to other state employees.

HB 2838, "Making 2009-11 supplemental transportation appropriations"

    Funds the MEC at nearly current levels. This bill passed to Rules Committee for second reading on February 28, 2010. 

    By resolution, reintroduced and retained in present status 3/15/10.

 

ESHB 3209 - "An act relating to managing costs of the ferry system; amending RCW 47.64.200, 47.64.320, and 47.28.030; creating new sections; making an appropriation, and declaring an emergency"

    Removes responsibility for the salary survey from MEC and transfers it to OFM.

    Delivered to the Governor for signature March 11, 2010. Governor partially vetoed April 1, 2010-Veto detail

 

SB 6381 (pages 4-5), "Making 2009-11 supplemental transportation appropriations"

    Reduces the MEC's budget by $6,000.00.
